Dried, Dyed & Hand Tied: Harvest Wreath Workshop
Join us for a seasonal workshop and learn to craft an Autumnal harvest wreath incorporating adornments you will create from foraged and found botanical elements harvested from this summers bounty. This workshop is a step-by-step course in the construction of a uniquely adorned harvest wreath. We will use grasses, pods, grapevine and passing blooms preserved through drying. Drying techniques and practice, dying process and wreath construction will all be discussed and explored. The workshop is geared to stimulate your creativity and to celebrate some of the best that Autumn has to offer.
In crafting a ‘harvest wreath’ you will utilize newly taught skills that you can harness in future decorating and creative endeavors. We invite you to partake and absorb Hort & Pott techniques, tips and crafting tricks garnered from years of experience, trial and some error. Some of the themes that we will cover include Autumnal Hues, Rustic/Modern Elegance, natural and foraged materials as well advice on foraging and drying botanicals.
Todd has developed a botanical practice over 20 years of creating and experimentation and will begin the workshop with an overview of drying botanicals, holiday decorating and live examples set forth in our Oak Hill, NY shop. We will work together to develop new adornments to reflect your taste ands style throughout the afternoon. You will be able to leave this workshop with new skills and a personally crafted object. We hope you’ll join us for a festive workshop to capture the essence of the season!
