Weaving with the season

| Woven Nest Workshop |

In this workshop you will learn to weave and construct your own botanical “nest”,  right out of a melody. These nests, inspired by some of our signature H&P creations, are an exuberant approach to embracing and exploring the season, replete with all of the symbology and verdancy of Spring. These woven treasures have boundless potential as ephemeral containers and even vessels for bulbs and other plantings if desired ; They also  delight in functioning as unique table top sculptural pieces to decorate with and also make elegant, timeless additions to decorative collections. Add the final touches to your nest with some of our hand painted eggs. Hone your crafting skills and adorn your home by learning to create these uncommon goods.

We will cover the grapevine construction technique and where to acquire materials for your future endeavors, stylistic development and adornment. Step by step Todd will take you through the process and stimulate your creative thinking.

All materials and tools are provided for crafting your nest. Light refreshments and beverages are included in the workshop fee and we will be working indoors so no need to worry about the weather. We will have additional materials and plants for sale in the shop if you’d like to expand upon your creation.

You will depart from this workshop with some wonderful new skills, a beautiful enduring nest of your own , a memorable experience and your own piece of Hort & Pott.

PLEASE NOTE -

  • There is no public transport in the area so driving is the only option to attend this workshop.

  • If for any reason you need to cancel this needs to be done at least one week before the class date. If you cancel after this time we will try to fill the space, if the space cannot be filled we unfortunately cannot offer a refund.

We hope you will join us for a memorable workshop - or all of them!  We are positive you will learn, grow and have a great time doing so with us at Hort & Pott.

His creative practice is rooted in botanical craft and exploring new natural designs which seek to embrace and celebrate the spectrum of the seasons in the North East. You’ll either find him weaving grapevine and arranging flowers in his workshop or knee deep in the soil pruning and planting an ever expanding range of gardens. If not outdoors, he’s likely sculpting new forms and vessels from clay.
